Welcome to the Parents’ Council Web Page.
The aim of this page is to make Scoil Ide parents aware of the Parents’ Council, what we do and how you can get involved in it. As a Parents’ Council our aim is to work on items that may assist Scoil Ide parents and pupils, or indeed the school itself. Our recent work has included running ‘Coffee Mornings’ for new parents at the school, organising a Second-Hand book sale at the school, providing parents with a list of ‘Extra Curricular’ activities carried out on the school premises and probably our most significant work to date, working with Limerick City Council on developing a new safer entry point for children at the front of the school.
A list of projects that we are currently working on can be viewed on the school hall notice board. They include, organising a series of talks for parents at the school on the subjects of ‘The Internet’, ‘Drugs’ and other topics, helping the school operate a ‘Shared Reading’ programme, organising some further ‘Social Events’ for parents, working again with the school on a Second-Hand book sale in this academic year and lots more.
In addition we run a segment in the School Newsletter most months with information that may be relevant to parents of pupils at the school. For a copy of the current issue of the School Newsletter please click on ‘News’ above.
We typically meet on one evening each month to discuss ideas, deliver feedback from parents and plan projects that we hope will be of benefit to parents, pupils and school. Details of our meeting location, dates and time can either be read in our school newsletter column by clicking on ‘News’ above or alternatively as notified on Scoil Ide website. We sincerely welcome new attendees.
Hope to see you at our next meeting!
